Hello, My name is Christa Walsingham and I have created this campaign to help Yousef Asfour to help him and his family after losing his home and school. I have been acquainted with the Asfour family for over a year now and they are wonderful people who have experienced so much loss. I hope you all help them, they already faced alot.

This is a part of Yousef’s story that he wanted to share with you:

“Hello, my friends. I’m Yousef, 14 years old. With a heavy heart, I’m reaching out to you—with the help of my mother—to share a part of my story. I may be young, but what I’ve faced has given me the courage and strength to take on the responsibility of helping my family, especially during these difficult times.

We left our home, saying our final goodbyes to the place where I was raised and had grown up. While we were running to save our lives from the explosions, I was leading the way. I tried to give my mother the strength to keep going. I kept saying and repeating, “Thank God”—thank God we were still alive, thank God my family was not injured. I tried to hold back the sadness and fear. The tanks were bombing nonstop. It was a miracle that we survived.

We took shelter in the local hospital for a day. The next day, we found ourselves in a place called Deir al-Balah, located in the middle of Gaza. My family and I lived in a small space there with 20 strangers for more than three months, constantly afraid we could die at any moment. The conditions were unbearable—no food to eat, no electricity, no privacy. But the hardest part of all was the hope we held onto that the war would end soon—but it didn’t. We kept hearing news of homes being destroyed daily and people being killed by the hundreds. There was no such thing as a ‘safe zone,’ despite what w
